The hull of the Saffier SL 46 is crafted using advanced laminate techniques. This includes isophthalic gelcoat and a vinylester-based barrier resin. Using a vacuum-infused method, the hull incorporates Divinycell hardcore-foam throughout, apart from the keel area, which features a robust solid laminate construction.
Key features of the hull design include an integrated towrail for added strength and durability. To support the substantial loads from the keel and rig, the hull is fortified with strong galvanized steel grid.
For effective sound insulation, the engine foundations are seamlessly embedded in Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). The hull has six integrated Arrow windows, providing both aesthetics and visibility from the inside. Additionally, the boat is equipped with a fixed carbon bowsprit designed for optimal performance with a code zero or gennaker. Completing the hull's versatility is a foldable transom, offering convenience and adaptability in various sailing conditions.
The deck is crafted with isophthalic based gelcoat and vinylester-based resin, reinforced by Divinicell hardcore foam. It features a sturdy stem fitting, an integrated anchor system and retractable cleats for mooring. Guardrails with stainless steel stanchions including double lifelines, pull- & pushpits to enhance safety. Harken hardware, such as winches, blocks, and tracks, contribute to reliable functionality. The self-tacking jib rail is seamlessly integrated in front of the mast, with the self-tacking jib's furling system positioned beneath the deck to run the foot of the jib smoothly over deck. Eight flush hatches and side windows in the coachroof with portholes for enough natural light and optimal ventilation. Additional features include a separate gas locker in the anchor locker and two stowage lockers in the aft deck sides for fenders and mooringlines.
The cockpit layout accommodates up to 10 people, featuring two large L-shaped benches with high backrests to ensure comfort, a large cockpit table with winecoolers and cupholders. The table has a central placed 15-inch integrated GPS display. An outside fridge can be added.
Double wheel steering with controls on the pedestal, along with practically placed rope lockers, facilitates easy single-handed sailing. Two hatches in the aft cockpit floor provide additional storage, while an integrated liferaft storage space in the transom ensures quick deployment to the water.
SAFFIER SL 46 MED Cockpit Layout:
The MED variant boasts a large aft deck with four sliding helmsman seats that can convert into lounge beds. The foldable swimming platform, coupled with a solid integrated swimming ladder, ensures easy water access.
SAFFIER SL 46 NORTH Cockpit Layout:
The NORTH version features a sheltered midsection cockpit, with optional removable "gentlemen's seats" backrests for enhanced helmsman comfort. A large storage compartment beneath the sundeck for dinghy storage is accessible via the folding bathing platform integrated into the stern. The perfect solution when you need the inflated dinghy easily accessible.
The keel, cast iron with a solid lead bulb, delivers maximum stability and has a Naca profile for optimal performance. Standard draft is 2.20 mtr, with a race keel option of 2.60 mtr. The deep balanced spade rudder (Jefa) with needle bearings offers precise steering. Two pedestals with a Carbon look steering wheel and an underdeck autopilot contribute to enhanced steering comfort.
All winches, travelers and blocks on the Saffier SL 46 boast Harken quality with a custom Saffier Yachts print. The setup includes two Harken 50 self-tailing winches, a self-tacking jib track and essential blocks for both the mainsail and jib. Additionally, you'll find two sets of Spinlock rope cleats, four folding padeyes in the cockpit for lifeline attachment, six folding mooring cleats and reliable navigation lights.

The Saffier SL 46 has a 68 m² mainsail and a 50 m² self-tacking jib, both crafted from high-quality dacron material by Elvstrøm Sails, with two reefs in the main, battens and sail bags.

The Saffier SL 46 provides a spacious and luxury interior, featuring a superb owner's cabin, a wide and seaworthy saloon, a generous toilet/shower area(s), a cabin(s) for family or friends or a utility room. Interior elements include light Oak matte silk finish woodwork, leather wall finish, Corian galleytop, anti-scratch flooring and high-quality fabric-covered seatings and berths.

Forward Owners Cabin
Enough wardrobe lockers in the owner’s cabin, a deck hatch and hull windows. Two cabin configurations are available: one with extra lockers and a sink. The other configuration has a private toilet and shower for the owner.
Aft Cabins
The two aft cabins are designed with double comfortable berths. Each cabin is equipped with hanging lockers for convenient storage and ample stowage room both below and above the berths. Notably, the starboard aft cabin offers the flexibility to be converted into a utility room, adding versatility to the onboard layout.
Toilet and Shower
The bathroom provides generous space, featuring a toilet, sink, separate shower and storage options. The area is well-ventilated, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing experience.
The Saffier SL 46 is powered by a Yanmar 45 HP engine coupled with a saildrive and a 2-blade folding propeller. The engine is mounted on a sturdy foundation to effectively mitigate vibrations and minimize operational noise. Optional we could add power with the 80 HP Yanmar diesel engine.
The propulsion system features a rubber exhaust pipe for cooling water, ensuring efficient and reliable cooling during operation. Notably, the engine is configured for freshwater cooling, enhancing its overall performance and longevity.
On board of the SL 46 there will be 400 liters of water. For optimal stability there are two tanks, one each side of the boat. Tanks will be filled through deck inlets and waterpumps distribute the water to all sinks and showers.
The SL 46 has two bilge pump system. One manual and one electric with automatic floatswitch.
The SL 46 is provided with wastewater tanks for the toilets and shower space.
The Saffier SL 46 is equipped with a dual-circuit electrical system to efficiently cater to different onboard needs. One circuit, comprising a 12v and 100 Ah battery, is dedicated to engine start, ensuring prompt and reliable ignition. The second circuit involves a 24v 3x 225 Ah deep-cycle battery designed for general onboard applications.
Charging of these batteries is facilitated by a 115A alternator taking power from the engine during operation or via shore power when docked.
The boat has sufficient lightning placed throughout all cabins, including adjustable reading lights above seats and berths for personalized comfort.
Furthermore, the interior and cockpit are outfitted with electric USB-C and 110v/220v sockets to charge various devices. The electrical panel is equipped with circuit breakers, offering control and safety for the electrical system. Water and diesel gauges contribute to effective monitoring of levels on board. All mandatory LED navigation lights, steaming light and anchor light ensure visibility at night.
The optional inverter for operating a 230v system when on the water, allowing for the use of appliances such as a coffee machine and boiler. Each boat is supplied with an individualized wiring diagram.
Equipped with 8 deck hatches, 2 opening port holes, companionway washboards, and 7 automatic vents distributed for the saloon, aft cabin, forward heads compartment and forward cabin. Additionally, it features dedicated electric ventilation for the engine room.
The Saffier SL 46 is equipped with a double wheel steering system that provides safe and precise steering of the SL 46. This progressive steering setup enhances the sailing experience with optimal control.
On the console in front of the steeringwheel you will find the engine display and throttle, controls for the bow- & sternthrusters, anchorwinch controls and the illuminated compass.
Safety measures include self-draining cockpit, sealed hull fittings, double hose clamps, non-diffusing hoses for the toilet, well-laid electric cables, limber holes for easy drainage, and accessible bilge with inspection hatches. Three fire extinguishers and a fire and smoke detector are strategically placed.
The Saffier SL 46 holds the CE certification, classified under Category A. This certification attests to the boat's adherence to rigorous safety and construction standards.
